  • Belly Dance Posture
    • Knees relaxed
    • Arches engaged
    • Tail bone dropped
    • Lower abs engaged
    • Hips heavy, ribcage lifted & free
    • Sternum lifting towards the light
    • Shoulder blades in back pockets
    • Chin parallel to the floor
  • Engage the arches
    1. Stand with knees slightly bent
    2. Lift the toes
    3. Feel the muscles around your arches engage.
    4. Relax the toes but keep your weight centered between the balls of your feet and your heels by keeping your arches engaged.
    5. Repeat.
    6. Maintain engaged arches to protect the hips.
  • Snake Arms Revisted
    • Pressing with the flat parts of your arms (back of hand, lower arm, upper arm)
    • Engaging the lats to anchor the arms
    • Connecting to the low belly
    • Add a ribcage reach (remember rubber band)
  • Arabic Walk Revisted
    • Weighted, unweighted
    • Radiating from your center
    • Using the inner thighs to allow for maximum outer jiggle
